It has become a tradition at Paul Cluver for the harvest interns to cook everyone a traditional meal from their home country as a “thank you.” We decided to go with an “All American BBQ” theme, or at least as close as we could get based on the available ingredients. We made margaritas (or some sort of variation since they don’t sell limes or margarita mix) Will’s famous guacamole (we had to use Doritos because they don’t have tortilla chips here!), watermelon, basil, and feta skewers, corn on the cob with a coconut and cayenne marinade, french fries, and a good ol’ fashioned hamburger bar. The food seemed to be a hit as the cellar boys ate three burgers each! It was definitely a challenge as we were cooking for 25 people, but we all managed to have a great time.
